6:30pm - 9:30pm
Dinner, Fellowship
Monthly Potluck and Social -
"Getting to know you"
Contact: Thom at 305-6976 - leave message.
This month we will get to know each other a bit better - or possibly learn something about the person sitting to your right and to your left.

Come out and take a seat at the table. You may learn something about someone and someone may learn about you!!

Some of the questions to be asked: If the guy to your right ?? could enjoy one of life's little luxuries every day, which would he choose? 1. Long massage, 2. Breakfast in bed, 3. Fine scotch and a cigar, 4. A nap, 5. Bubble bath, 6. A maid. You guess what the person to your right would choose. He either agrees or rebuts your choice and explains.

Then the person to your left may be judged by you like if he were a mode of transportation, which would he be? 1. Hot rod, 2. Pogo stick, 3. Horse and buggy, 4. Time machine, 5. Corporate jet or 6. Jogging. He will agree or rebut your choice and explain.

Then as we go around the table, a totally different set of questions will be asked of everyone at the table! More examples are: If ? were a special vehicle, which would he be? 1. Tank, 2. Ambulance, 3. Parade float, 4. Garbage truck, 5. Ice cream truck, 6. Limousine. OR If ?? were a circus performer, which would he be? 1. Clown, 2. Trapeze artist, 3. Lion tamer, 4. Juggler, 5. Fire eater, 6. Performing poodle. There are about 180 possible scenarios so don't worry, no one will get the same questions!!! Should be fun, should be interesting, we might learn something we didn't know about each other!!

So with that in mind we will launch the idea and see how it is received. We may do it again if everyone thinks it is a fun way to "break the ice" and keep conversations going.

The social evening will begin when the gate opens at 6:30, dinner is now
served promptly at 7PM with brief announcements after dessert. Come out and get to know each other better - shame on you if you don't meet someone new or reacquaint with someone you haven't seen in ages tonight may be the night, we are after all social creatures aren't we!?!?

We will be collecting the traditional participation fees tonight, $3.00 per person if bringing a dish that will serve at least 8 guys or $5.00 per person if no dish is shared. Main course items or deserts always popular. Birthday cake will be provided.

Please, summer is back, care needs to be taken with keeping foods at proper temperatures, especially cold foods. When arriving at the hall, all foods must be "ready to serve", we no longer keep food in the ovens - all foods are delivered directly to the serving line so that dinner can begin promptly at 7PM!

Our Monthly Potlucks and Socials are usually planned for a Member Guest Host to lead the event with Open Theme either chosen by the guest host or otherwise regularly planned. If you would like to Guest Host a month or you have a special Theme you would like to present, such as a birthday party or anniversary party for your special someone OR any other creative idea that would interest "the gang" - please contact Thom at 305-6976 or email him at msn.communicator@gmail.com and we can reserve the calendar and plan the event.
