Up Coming Special Event

Saturday, August 5 2017
7:00pm - 9:30pm
Monthly Pot Luck and Social - Theme: Summer Heat - Cool Hall

Guest speaker: Sandy Davenport, PCOA

Casas Adobes Congregational Church, 6801 N. Oracle Rd.

We welcome our guest speaker tonight, she originally was scheduled for our June Potluck and Social but at the last minute ended up in the emergency room. I asked that she become a "bubble gal" in order to remain immune from society until 6:30 tonight so that she doesn't come down with any other illness that will deprive us of her presence again!! Scheduled guest speaker is Sandy Davenport, LMSW, Caregiver Specialist with PCOA.

Sandy will discuss "Project Visibility" a program designed to educate the medical and care giving community to be accepting of the LGBTQ community.

We will be collecting the participation fees tonight, $3.00 per person if bringing a dish that will serve at least 8 guys or $5.00 per person if no dish is shared. Main course items or deserts always popular. Birthday cake will be provided.

Please, summer is back, care needs to be taken with keeping foods at proper temperatures, especially cold foods. When arriving at the hall, all foods must be "ready to serve", the Kitchen Krew has asked that I remind everyone that we can only keep your food cold or warmed in the ovens - we can not permit cooking the food in the church kitchen, it is against church policy to use the ovens or stoves to cook. (NOTE: This does not include preparing and mixing salads as long as the "mess" is cleaned up after preparation.) The Kitchen Krew tries very hard to keep the kitchen in an orderly manner just as it is found when they arrive and accept the responsibility, please be considerate.

Our Monthly Pot Lucks and Socials are usually planned for a Member Guest Host to lead the event with Open Theme either chosen by the guest host or otherwise regularly planned. If you would like to Guest Host a month or you have a special Theme you would like to present, such as a birthday party or anniversary party for your special someone OR any other creative idea that would interest "the gang" - please contact Thom at 305-6976 or email him at and we can reserve the calendar and plan the event.
